Howard Doesn’t Come Up Short
EL CAJON — The shortest player on the court, 5-foot 10-inch Ron Howard of Vista High School, scored 22 points Thursday night to lead the Blue team to a 109-82 victory over the Red team in the San Diego County boys’ all-star basketball game at Grossmont College.
Brad Burton of El Capitan added 21 points and Demetrius Laffitte of Monte Vista scored 19 for the Blue team, which led from the outset.
Poway’s John Colborne led the Red team with 20 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds. The game, which followed a girls’ all-star game, was limited to boys who graduated in June.
