Missing Girl Found With Tutor
A missing 15-year-old Eagle Rock girl whose photograph has been displayed on grocery bags and milk cartons was found in San Jose with her junior high school math tutor afterpolice reacted to a national hot-line tip from an anonymous caller.
The girl’s mother, Rita LaFlamme, said her daughter was “brainwashed and enticed into leaving” by her tutor, 35-year-old Allan Slaughter. A co-worker of Slaughter’s at a San Jose hospital called the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in Washington and said she had seen Slaughter with the girl, hot-line director Carla Branch said. Police picked up the pair at Slaughter’s home Thursday and booked him into Santa Clara County Jail for investigation of sexual abuse and assault.
