A group of Stanford students said they will try to keep Playboy magazine photographer David Chan from photographing women students for the periodical’s “Girls of the Pac-10” layout. The students, who call themselves Stanford Students Opposed to Pornography, said they plan to picket Chan’s hotel and tried but failed to prevent the student newspaper from running an advertisement from Playboy, because it would be “demeaning to all Stanford women” if the photographer takes pictures of any of the university’s female students.
