West, Thompson Honored

Coach Willie West and talented guard Stephen Thompson, who led Crenshaw to an undefeated season and a No. 1 ranking in the State, were honored during ceremonies for area basketball All-Stars Tuesday night at Times Mirror Square.

West, who guided Crenshaw to its second state championship in the last three seasons, was named Central City Coach of the Year.

Thompson, a 6-2 junior, who averaged 28 points a game was named the Central City Player of the Year, headlining a 10-man team.
