Local News in Brief : Nordstrom’s Will Open in Burbank
Burbank officials announced Tuesday that executives for the Nordstrom’s department store chain have agreed to open a store in the Towncenter shopping center, scheduled to open by 1987.
City Manager Andrew Lazzaretto said he had received a call from a representative of the shopping center’s developer, Ernest W. Hahn Inc., saying that a Nordstrom’s store would open by the fall of 1989 in the shopping center.
Three other department stores--The Broadway, J.C. Penney and Robinson’s--are already scheduled to anchor the Towncenter.
“This is the long-awaited good news that we have all be hoping for,” Lazzaretto said of the announcement by Nordstrom’s.
