Man Held in Shooting of Fullerton Officer After Robbery
A 36-year-old Bakersfield man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery in the shooting of a Fullerton police officer, authorities said Tuesday. The officer was not seriously wounded.
Charles Boyer Henderson, who had been staying in Fullerton, was booked into Fullerton City Jail and was being held without bail Tuesday, Sgt. Tony Hernandez said.
Henderson was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of North Pritchard Ave. by officers who pulled his car over, Sgt. Bud Lathrop said. He said witnesses had given officers a description and license number of a car in which the suspected robber was seen fleeing.
Officer John King, 26, was treated and released from St. Jude Hospital in Fullerton.
