Eva Spaeth Dies; Half-Sister of Pilot Lindbergh
ROSEVILLE, Minn. — Eva Lindbergh Christie Spaeth, half-sister of Charles A. Lindbergh Jr., died Monday at age 92.
Born in Little Falls, Minn., she was the daughter of Charles A. and Mary Lindbergh. Her father served in Congress from 1907 to 1917, representing Minnesota’s 6th District. Her half-brother, who was the son of Charles Sr.’s second wife, Evangeline, won fame for his legendary solo flight from New York to Paris in 1927.
Her first husband was George W. Christie, a Minnesota newspaper publisher who died in 1956. In 1970, she married G. Howard Spaeth, longtime Minnesota tax commissioner.
Survivors include Spaeth, their son and daughter and six grandchildren.
