Each week on “Silver Spoons,” young Ricky Schroder must keep his fun-loving father in line. In “A Reason to Live,” a new TV movie due Monday at 9 p.m. on NBC (Channels 4,36,39), he has a father with more serious problems.

Here, Schroder must race against time to convince his father (Peter Fonda) that life is worth living after a series of setbacks has led his dad to contemplate suicide. Deidre Hall (seen with Schroder and Fonda on the cover) plays Fonda’s wife. The cast also includes Bruce Weitz and Carrie Snodgrass.
