Track & Field: Serra qualifies first in 4 x 400 relay

Gardena Serra ended Friday’s CIF state preliminaries the same way it started them: by winning a relay.
The Cavaliers’ foursome of Ronny Hall, Adoree’ Jackson, Darrell Fuery and Lloyd Sicard ran 3:13.68 to clock the fastest qualifying time in the 4 x 400 relay, the final event of the night, and is poised to win the state championship in Saturday’s finals.
Serra also had the fastest qualifying mark in the 4 x 100 relay, the day’s first event.
Long Beach Wilson qualified second, Carson was third and Long Beach Poly was fourth in the girls 4 x 400 and earned spots in the finals along with South Pasadena and Mater Dei.
