Los Angeles Franklin has done what it needed to do _ win all of its nonleague games. The Panthers are 6-0, led by talented receiver Joshua Taylor, who’s scoring touchdowns running, receiving and on kickoffs. He had 13 touchdowns before Friday’s victory over L.A. University.
But there’s no time to celebrate. The Northern League begins on Friday night, and Franklin faces its toughest test of the season with a road game against Lincoln (5-1).
This game could decide the league championship.
Franklin has beaten Santee, Belmont, L.A. Jordan, Torres, Contreras and University. Taylor and quarterback Bryan Hernandez have been the key players.
But Lincoln has played a much stronger nonleague schedule, with wins over Van Nuys and Huntington Park, among others.
So it’s showdown time in the Northern League. Lincoln had better be careful in dealing with Taylor.
The game will be televised by Time Warner Cable.
