Boys’ basketball: A 36-point performance from Taft’s Kris Yanku

Senior guard Kris Yanku of Woodland Hills Taft scored 36 points on Thursday in a 58-45 victory over Anaheim Servite in the St. John Bosco tournament.
Darien Williams scored 28 points and Isaac Hamilton 26 in St. John Bosco’s 86-70 win over Beverly Hills.
Mater Dei held off West Ranch, 76-73. Dominguez defeated Venice, 59-47. EJ Johnson had 17 points. Darren Tooke scored 20 points for Venice.
Cantwell-Sacred Heart defeated Westchester, 57-56. Jose Estrada had 23 points. Cleveland defeated Redondo, 66-62. Michael Oguine scored 26 points. Highland defeated Gardena, 58-54.
L.A. Windward knocked off Pasadena, 54-52. Guard Jordan Wilson and center Roy Hemsley led Windward.
