Boys’ basketball: Long Beach Poly holds off Etiwanda, 56-47

Roschon Prince made 11 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter and finished with 22 points to lead Long Beach Poly past Etiwanda, 56-47, in a Southern Section Division 1AA semifinal game at the Anaheim Convention Center.
Jordan Bell, a 6-8 junior, contributed 12 rebounds, four blocks and nine points. He was a huge factor in the fourth quarter with two blocks to prevent an Etiwanda comeback.
Sophomore Jordan McLaughlin had 17 points for Etiwanda (29-2). Poly (27-1) is trying to win back-to-back Division 1AA championships and advanced to Saturday’s 6:30 p.m. final.
