Boys’ basketball: Verdugo Hills is tied for first place

Nick Brown’s basket with 11 seconds left put Verdugo Hills in the lead for good and the Dons came away with a 58-56 victory over Van Nuys Grant, creating a first-place tie in the East Valley League.

Verdugo Hills is 15-7 and 6-1. Grant is 12-10 and 6-1. Anthony Bobek had 13 points for the Dons. Jared Garner led Grant with 18 points.
