Santa Ana Mater Dei, ranked No. 14 by The Times, is beginning to think upset against No. 3 Edison. Jordan Allen just scored on a 14-yard run with 8:33 left in the third quarter, giving the Monarchs a 26-14 lead.
John Tavarez set up the touchdown by returning an interception 40 yards to the 14. It was the second interception of the game for the Monarchs off quarterback Matt Viles, and both led to TDs.
