Over the years Bishop Amat has been moved from Division I to Division V, but the Lancers don’t like to consider themselves Division V players.
Bishop Amat (4-1) took a step toward being recognized as more than a lower-division power Wednesday when it beat defending City Section champions Chatsworth, 5-4.
‘This is not a [Division v] team,’ Lancers shortstop Tommy Reyes, who was 4 for 4 with three runs, reminded the L.A. Daily News. ‘Our team stepped up and got some key hits.’
Andrew Mistone had three RBIs and Brady Zuniga got the save by striking out two in the seventh.
Over the weekend, the Lancers loss to Covina Northview, 4-1, in the final of the Glendora tournament, but showed no effects from the loss against Chatsworth.
