Opinion: Freakish Capitol video: Bipartisan laughter erupts in Senate committee

A loyal Ticket reader called our attention to this video clip from the dutiful folks over at C-SPAN.

And we have to agree that this recent exchange between Iowa Republican Sen. Charles E. Grassley, who used to be chairman of the Budget Committee, and North Dakota Democrat Kent Conrad, who now is chairman of the Budget Committee, is pretty darned good -- and refreshing.

Out of context, it may not come across quite the way the two senators intended. But either way it’s pretty funny. Give it a listen.
