UCLA will go to a bowl game even if the Bruins lose to Oregon in the Pac-12 Conference championship game Friday.
The NCAA approved UCLA’s petition Wednesday. The Bruins are bowl eligible after going 6-6 during the regular season. But they would have lost that eligibility with a loss to Oregon.
“We will be able to give our seniors one more chance to end their careers on a high note regardless of the outcome Friday,” Athletic Director Dan Guerrero said. “We’d like to thank the NCAA for considering the unique situation.”
