Angels reliever Brian Stokes, slowed by shoulder fatigue, was put on the disabled list and right-hander Bobby Cassevah was called up from triple-A Salt Lake to take his place, Mike DiGiovanna reports.
Stokes, 30, has pitched 16 innings so far this season and has a 7.31 earned-run average.
The 24-year-old Cassevah, who was chosen by the Athletics in December’s Rule 5 Draft and then returned to the Angels, enjoyed an impressive spring and has done well in relief for the Bees. He has a 1-1 record and 3.09 ERA over 11.2 innings.
