Larry Brown says he’s staying put in Charlotte

Larry Brown apparently won’t be returning to the Clippers this offseason.

He won’t be returning to the 76ers either. Nor will he be adding to his resume of an NBA-record nine head coaching jobs.

Brown insisted Wednesday that his current head coaching job with the Charlotte Bobcats will be his last one.

‘I’m not going to coach for anyone else,’ Brown said of Bobcats owner Michael Jordan, who hired Brown after the coach spent two years out of the NBA following one disastrous year with the New York Knicks.

The Clippers parted ways with Coach Mike Dunleavy in February, and interim head coach Kim Hughes has gone 7-25 with the team, all of which has led to speculation involving Brown, including a possible reunion between the Hall of Fame coach and the Clippers, a team he coached for 1 1/2 seasons in the early 1990s.

But Brown tried to put all the rumors to rest. ‘I can’t remember having any more fun as a coach,’ Brown said of his current role with the Bobcats.
