With California’s 62-46 win over Arizona State on Saturday, USC was eliminated from any chance of earning a share of the Pacific 10 Conference title.
To be sure, the Trojans’ chances of earning that share before Saturday were slim. They needed to win out, have California lose its last two games and have Arizona State lose two of its last three.
By beating the Sun Devils, the Golden Bears can finish with no worse than 12-6 in the Pac-10, meaning that they earned at least a share of the league title Saturday. The Sun Devils can tie them by winning their last two games, one of which is against USC on Thursday in Tempe, Ariz.
