Joey Logano qualified second for the NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale. The winner of the 2007 Showdown returns for his third All-Star race that pits the top drivers from the K&N Pro Series West and East.
Logano, the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series rookie of year, will be driving the No. 20 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing in the Daytona 500 and the Auto Club 500 in Fontana next month.
Logano talked about last year’s Showdown race. He crashed on the last lap with Peyton Sellers. Even though Logano crossed the finish line first, he was penalized for rough driving. Matt Kobyluck was awarded the win and became the first two-time winner of the Showdown.
