Trio of Clippers remain questionable against Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS -- Clippers Coach Mike Dunleavy said at the morning shootaround that Baron Davis, Chris Kaman and Marcus Camby remained questionable for tonight’s game against Minnesota at the Target Center.

All three players will be a game-time decision. Camby suffered bruised ribs when he took a charge in the first quarter of the Clippers’ 103-87 loss to New Jersey on Wednesday. Davis’ right knee became bothersome and he played only two minutes in the fourth quarter before going to the bench. Kaman landed on another player’s foot in the third quarter and sprained his left ankle, though he finished the game.

Davis said that because the team’s bus arrived at New Jersey’s Izod Center a half-hour behind schedule, he did not undergo his normal pregame stretching and treatment routine.

‘It’s one of those things where you get to certain cities and you just never know about traffic,’ Dunleavy said. ‘It’s just like in L.A. It happens sometimes going to Staples to teams coming from the Marina [del Rey] or wherever. There’s an accident on the freeway and the world is stuck. It just happens every now and then. It’s unfortunate.’

Playing the last-place Timberwolves gives the Clippers a chance to absolve themselves of what Dunleavy said was a tendency to play against the level of their opponent. Dunleavy said his team just needed to bounce back, period, regardless of whether it was playing an NBA lightweight.

If any of the Clippers’ three injured starters is unable to play, it will make rebounding from the debacle against the Nets that much harder.
