A day after Michael Vick’s agents said the quarterback had agreed to an endorsement deal with Nike, the athletic-apparel company disputed the claim.’Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick. We have agreed to supply product to Michael Vick as we do a number of athletes who are not under contract with Nike,’ the company said in a statement.
Nike cut off its endorsement deal with Vick after he was charged with financing a dog-fighting operation in 2007. Vick, who served a 23-month prison sentence, lost an estimated $100 million in endorsements and salary.
On Sunday, Vick played in his first NFL regular-season game since being released from prison -- a 34-14 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.
