Your Los Angeles Clippers (10-34) are having another miserable season and boast the fourth-worst record in the NBA.
But in at least one category -- local TV ratings -- they are in last place.
The Clippers are tied with the Charlotte Bobcats for the poorest local television ratings, according to SportsBusiness Journal. Both franchises have a 0.5 average rating. Los Angeles is a much bigger market than Charlotte, so the actual number of households watching the Clippers is higher.
Still, the Clippers’ local TV ratings so far this season have dropped 30%.
The highest local TV ratings are enjoyed by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The LeBron James gang is fighting the Lakers, Celtics and Magic for the best record in the NBA. The Cavs’ local TV ratings are 7.7, up 130% this season, according to SportsBusiness Journal. It’s the first time that the Cavs have led the NBA in TV ratings.
Meanwhile, that other local team, the Lakers, have a rating of 4.2, which is up 23.5% over last season.
