Late Night: Jon Stewart blasts Mitt Romney’s jobs plan

On Wednesday night, Jon Stewart turned his critical gaze to Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, the perceived front-runners in the GOP presidential race.
He joked that both candidates, with their square jaws and enviably thick hair, could ‘have found themselves cast in one of those ‘middle-aged male kayaker with prostate problems’ advertisements.’
Stewart had a little fun at Perry’s expense, pointing out the Texas governor’s habit of swaying to and fro in his seat, but he reserved his harshest words for Romney, who unveiled his much-touted jobs plan earlier this week.
Standing in front of what Stewart called ‘the world’s most patriotic service elevator,’ Romney boasted that his plan was available to download on Kindle -- though he wasn’t sure if it was free or not.
Stewart noted some irony in this: ‘You don’t know how much your economic plan costs people to get.’
He also took issue with Romney’s vague insistence that ‘America should be a job machine. ... We should have a job-creating machine in America.’
‘Of course, a job machine, it’s so easy!’ Stewart declared sarcastically. ‘And instead of going to war, we should come up with some sort of peace machine. ... What else you got, idea machine?’
But the worst diss was yet to come: ‘Man, you want to be president so bad, Al Gore can taste it.’
