The ‘Lost’ weekend: The Island needs more puppets

It seems as though ‘Lost’ fan stuff has calmed down a little bit in recent weeks, especially as ‘Sundown’ provided less in the way of stuff to dissect/make fun of. It was just a solid episode of ‘Lost’ that advanced the plot but didn’t really advance the mythology in any concrete form. So this week’s edition of the ‘Lost’ weekend may be a little shorter than usual.
First, I just want to point out how much I’m enjoying Drew McWeeny’s coverage of the show over at Hitfix.com. McWeeny is doing a good job of balancing in recapping the action, giving his opinions on how the season is going, and speculating about what’s to come. It’s a hard blend to manage, and he’s doing just fine. If you prefer more snark with your ‘Lost’ recaps, though, you should definitely head over to the blog Working Title to read Lostwatch, which usually consists of author Jimmy Bing putting sarcastic comments atop screen caps of the ‘Lost’ action. Some funny stuff in there.
Or if you’d rather, you can get your ‘Lost’ humor in more official fashion. ABC’s ‘Untangled’ series has gotten much better this season, as it has entrusted the titular untangling to a puppet Pierre Chang. Now, I don’t know about you, but puppets make everything better. Watch the latest episode embedded above or find all episodes here. ABC is also launching an official ‘make a ‘Lost’ promo’ contest, which could result in your visiting the ‘Lost’ finale event. (I got that link from here, which describes how ‘Lost’ show runners are responding to fan consternation about the slow pace of answers in the final season.)
