Kelsey Grammer commits to a tattoo -- his first

Kelsey Grammer has been married four times, but he’s only now gotten his first tattoo. A tattoo, after all, is a big commitment.
Grammer, still toppling head over heels in his love affair with Kayte Walsh, landed flat on his back Saturday on a table in a Chicago tattoo parlor. He now bears the first name of his fourth wife, in cursive, on his person. Permanently. Unless he pulls an Angelina Jolie.
Depending on the source, Grammer got the tattoo on his ‘abdomen’ or his ‘hip.’ The Chicago Sun-Times’ nice article on Grammer’s visit to the parlor puts the tat at his waistline. The site notes that a 21-year-old employee of the parlor didn’t know who Grammer was and made him provide ID.
Tattoo sites recommend avoiding ink on body areas that will likely sag or wrinkle up like an old Granny Smith apple over time. But you don’t want to go for skin stretched over bone, necessarily, because inking that area may cause a bit more pain.
Grammer, by settling on the abdominal area, had more padding to offer the tattoo artist.
Weight gain — even significant weight gain — shouldn’t stretch Grammer’s tattoo like Silly Putty (‘Kayyyyyyte’), say those in the know. The real danger are the stretch marks that can accompany weight gain. Those can really gum up a great tattoo.
So, the actor — who appears to be in fine shape — now has even more incentive to avoid putting on the pounds. But having a beautiful blond wife 27 years his junior probably provides more than enough incentive.
Grammer, who plays the mayor of Chicago in ‘Boss’ on Starz, is set to become a father again as Walsh, who was a flight attendant, is pregnant with twins. In January at the Golden Globes, Grammer revealed that Walsh was in her second trimester, the New York Post reported at the time.
Their romance sparked some censure as it began while he was still married to third wife Camille. Only about two weeks separated the old Grammers’ divorce and the new Grammers’ wedding.
With the new kids, Grammer will be a father of six. He has daughter Spencer, 28, with first wife Doreen Alderman; daughter Greer, 19, with Barrie Buckner; and son Jude, 7, and daughter Mason, 10, with third wife Camille.
His actress-daughter Spencer had a son last October, making Grammer a grandfather.
