It took five years, but Lindsay Lohan has finally put her DUI conviction in the rear-view mirror.
‘She has done everything this court has asked of her,’ Judge Stephanie Sautner said Thursday during a probation progress hearing that ended with Lohan declared done on the 2007 matter and on informal probation only regarding her jewelry theft case from last year.
‘The only terms for you are for you to obey all laws,’ Sautner told Lohan at L.A.’s Airport Courthouse, L.A. Now reported. ‘You don’t need to come to court anymore.’ If all goes well, that informal probation will end in May 2014.
Lohan had words for the judge as well: ‘I just wanted to thank you for being fair. What you’ve done has really opened a lot of doors for me.’
While Sautner stopped herself short of delivering a lecture, she did advise Lohan to ‘live your life in a more mature way. Stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work.’
With solid marks from her probation officer backing her up, according to TMZ, Lohan scored a Canadian work permit Wednesday allowing her to do ‘Liz and Dick,’ an upcoming Lifetime film in which she’ll play a young Elizabeth Taylor.
She told reporters outside the courthouse that she did in fact have plans to mark the occasion -- by having dinner with her younger sister, Ali.
