Julia Louis-Dreyfus gets her star on Holywood’s Walk of Fame. Oops, make that Hollywood.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus got her star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on Tuesday, and with a touch suited to her comedic roles on “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and, of course, “Seinfeld.”
Seems the actress’ name was misspelled “Julia Luis Dreyfus” -- yes, with the “o” and the hyphen missing -- on the first incarnation of her star. Fortunately for the layers of folks who’d approved the star up to that point, the mistakes were discovered by CNN producer David Daniel as he walked by on his way to work that morning.
A quick fix was made for the cameras; LAist reported that the “Luis” was chiseled out and given to the Emmy winner as a souvenir. A permanent replacement is to come -- or, as former copy editor Daniel might say, one is “TK.”
“Right when you think you’ve made it, you get knocked down,” she said afterward to E! Online. “It’s an ideal metaphor for how this business works.”
Louis-Dreyfus, whose name we prefer to misspell as “Louis-Dreyfuss” when the mood suits us, is the first “Seinfeld” alum to get a star.

A new Times database puts readers on the sidewalks of Hollywood, using more than a century of archives to track the lives of the stars, including recent Oscar winners Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock and recent honorees Dennis Hopper and Russell Crowe. Julia Louis-Dreyfus will be there soon enough -- we simply want to make sure we spell her name right.
