A week of food on ‘Fresh Air’

Had enough of listening to people talk about food? Not yet, you haven’t.
National Public Radio’s ‘Fresh Air’ is devoting this week to the topic and I could listen to Terry Gross interview paint drying. Not that that would be a fair description of their lineup: Monday’s show had chef Grant Achatz talking about fighting tongue cancer, and a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of ‘Ratatouille’; Tuesday is the banana’s threatened future and test-tube meat; Wednesday will be Ruth Reichl and me talking about our respective books; and Thursday will be archived interviews with Julia Child and Harold McGee.
On the ‘Fresh Air’ website you can find links to past shows on topics including wild fish, clean water, Alice Waters, global food politics and, as they say, much, much more.
Broadcast in our area on KPCC-FM (89.3) at 7 p.m. and KCLU-FM (88.3) at various times.
