‘We Belong Together’ from the film ‘Toy Story 3,’ with music and lyrics by Randy Newman, won the Oscar for original song Sunday night at the 83rd Academy Awards.

Newman, who had received his 20th Oscar nomination for the song, also sang it in the film. His lone previous win came in 2002 for his original song ‘If I Didn’t Have You’ from ‘Monsters, Inc.’ Earlier this month, he took home a Grammy Award for score soundtrack album for motion picture, television or other visual media for ‘Toy Story 3.’

Newman was competing against Tom Douglas, Troy Verges and Hillary Lindsey for ‘Coming Home’ from ‘Country Strong,’ Alan Menken and Glenn Slater for ‘I See the Light’ from ‘Tangled’ and A.R. Rahman, Dido and Rollo Armstrong for ‘If I Rise’ from ‘127 Hours.’

The Academy Awards are taking place at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and are being televised live on ABC. We’ll carry all the breaking news and reaction here on Awards Tracker.
