She may be known for plucking and shaping the brows of Hollywood’s most demanding clientele (Kim Kardashian won’t let anyone else touch her eyebrows), but Anastasia Soare’s passion for creating beautiful faces doesn’t stop with the strip of hair above the eyelid.
The Beverly Hills-based aesthetician is constantly thinking up cosmetics that her discerning customers will love. “Women will know immediately if something works or not,” she says. “I know my clients try everything and they’re so picky.” Based on her client’s needs and her years of skin care experience, her latest creation is an eye shadow palette called Illumin8 ($40).The five colors of shadow are, Soare says, “universally flattering as well as trendy and fashion-forward.” But besides the shades, it’s the treatment aspect of this makeup that makes it different from the thousands of products already out there. Each eye shadow contains diamond core powder, which diffuses light, minimizing pores and wrinkles. It also claims to have anti-aging effects with a combination of ingredients called “Youthful Synergy Complex,’ which includes a macadamia nut derivative that works as a natural hydrator, and brown algae, which accelerates cell renewal.
And because this makeup sits so close to the delicate eye area, Soare makes sure it’s good for sensitive skin. “I am personally really sensitive,” Soare says. “If I don’t have a reaction to something, then I know it will work for other people who might also have sensitive skin.”
Soare isn’t stopping with treating the eye area; she plans to expand into foundations, powders, concealers and lip gloss that all contain her Youthful Synergy Complex. “There are so many products out there that I would not come out with something just to make another product,” she says. “Every woman dies for a good product and we all want the best, and why not? Why not have the best?” Her well-heeled patrons would agree.
The Illumin8 eye shadow palette is available at Sephora.
