Hello Kitty Cafe pop-up to open in Irvine, and the Hello Kitty truck is headed to Glendale
A Hello Kitty Cafe is scheduled to pop up in a metal shipping container at the Irvine Spectrum Center in late November. The makeshift cafe will serve the same Hello Kitty treats that the Hello Kitty Cafe truck sold when it debuted last year during the Hello Kitty Convention in Los Angeles.
That means you can expect doughnuts, pink bow-shaped water bottles, colorful macarons, mini-cakes and Hello Kitty cookies. My Melody, Keroppi, Little Twin Stars and Chococat will also make appearances on various sweets.
The cafe will have daily tea service, sodas and coffee drinks featuring Portola Coffee Lab coffee. A few high-top tables near the container means you can hang out and discuss how confusing it is that Hello Kitty isn’t actually a kitty.
Sanrio plans on opening a permanent Hello Kitty Cafe location in Southern California some time next year. But until then, there’s the shipping container pop-up. The Hello Kitty Cafe truck will also be at the Glendale Galleria on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m..
The truck will be stocked with Sanrio character macarons, a Hello Kitty cookie set, Hello Kitty Cafe mugs, T-shirts and more sweets.
