Upgrades to Glendale Unified’s technology hub completed
A remodeling project started in late 2014 in the basement of Glendale Unified’s headquarters on Jackson Street was finished recently, according to school officials.
The basement serves as the district’s technology hub, or Network Operations Center, and houses computer equipment and offices for district employees who oversee technology used by teachers and students across Glendale’s 30 schools.
In September 2014, the Glendale School Board agreed to hire La Crescenta-based Chalmers Construction Services to remodel the employees’ offices in the basement and upgrade the space where the main computer system, wiring and emergency backup generator are located.
Glendale Unified spent about $1.9 million for the upgrade with Measure S funds.
