Three arrested on suspicion of murder after man’s death in Glendale

Three people were arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the death of a 31-year-old man in Glendale, police said.

Around 2 a.m. Thursday, police were called to the 200 block of West Windsor Road, where the victim was in a state of “medical distress,” said Glendale police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot.

The victim, who did not live at the residence and was not identified, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The resident of the home, identified as Sparkle Soojian, 32, along with two others, identified as Jared Kasiewicz, 28, and Courtney Argue, 25, were arrested on suspicion of murder.

Soojian and the victim reportedly knew each other.

Police believe the victim was targeted and the killing was not a random act of violence, Lightfoot said.

The cause of death remains under investigation, though detectives believe foul play was involved. Further details were not available.

This marks the fourth homicide reported in Glendale this year.

In June, a 34-year-old man allegedly used an ax to kill his grandparents, William and Verna Scheiern, in their Glendale home.

Nathaniel Scheiern, who was charged with two counts of capital murder, had been living with the couple on the 600 block of Alexander Street for roughly a year.

Meanwhile, in April, 21-year-old Jasmine Quarles was found dead at the Days Inn with a gunshot wound to her head.

Her body was discovered by housekeepers, who went in to clean the room the day she was supposed to check out. She had checked in three days earlier.

The case remains unsolved.
