Men’s Tennis: UCI’s Heim shines

UC Irvine junior Sebastian Heim has been named Big West West Conference Athlete of the Week in men’s tennis.

Heim defeated No. 28-ranked Logan Smith of USC, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-4), at No. 1 singles on Saturday in a nonconference road loss.

Heim is still working his way back into top form after dealing with an injury that kept him from training over the summer and an illness that sidelined him for the majority of the fall season.

This was Heim’s sixth conference player of the week honor, matching Fabian Matthews for the most at UCI.
