Breakdown: The battle of the Pirates is a rematch of last year’s Beach Bowl at Ventura, won by the hosts, 53-39…Ventura is ranked No. 4 in the state and has won seven games in a row…Ventura ranks No. 1 in the 37-school Southern California Football Assn. in scoring (40.5 ppg) and passing yards (855) and its 588.5 yards per game rank No. 2…OCC ranks No. 12 in SoCal in scoring defense (22.5 ppg) and No. 12 in passing defense (319 yards per game)…After trouncing East Los Angeles, 27-3, OCC fell at Canyons, 42-19, when it gave up touchdowns of 84 yards (kickoff return), 55 (run), as well as 61, 37, 34 and 24 (pass)…Hunt, who did not play in the opener, had 17 carries for 118 rushing yards and a 17-yard touchdown at Canyons…OCC So. QB Kody Whittaker (34 for 50 passing for 363 yards and three TDs) is out with a concussion, bringing Fr. James Harrelson back into the starting role.
