Breakdown: Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley open Sunset League play … Oilers, who are coming off a bye, played a tough nonleague schedule, losing 38-13 to San Clemente, No. 10 at the time in the CIF Southern Section Division 2 poll, losing 38-20 to Tesoro, winning 29-18 against Long Beach Wilson, then-No. 3 in Division 6, and losing 38-6 to San Juan Hills … Barons won for the first time last week, edging host San Diego Mira Mesa, 42-41, to avoid going winless in their first five games since 1991 … Huntington Beach and Fountain Valley have split the last four meetings … Barons placed second in league last year, while the Oilers finished fifth.
