High School Roundup: CdM girls’ soccer ties Beckman

IRVINE — Freshman Trinity Rodman scored both goals for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League opener at Beckman High.
Taylor Rosen and Ava McKenzie had assists for CdM (12-0-2 in league), the top-ranked team in CIF Southern Section Division 2 which plays host to University on Thursday.

IRVINE — Ella Abbott, Layne Anzaldo, Jaleh Moaddeli and Brogan Stout all scored three goals for the Sea Kings in Tuesday’s Pacific Coast League opener.
CdM is 6-2.

Sunset League
Huntington Beach 57, Edison 34
Frankie Wade-Sanchez scored a team-high 15 points with four steals to lead the Oilers (11-7, 1-1 in league) past the Chargers (10-6, 1-1).
Adrienne Dang added 14 points, including two three-pointers. She also had six assists.
Shelby Schuesler paced Edison with 10 points.
Los Alamitos 73, Newport Harbor 15
The Griffins (13-3, 2-0) jumped on the Sailors (6-10, 0-2) with a 27-2 first quarter and never looked back.
Kalei Iwami (16), Cailyn Crocker (15), and Sydney Gandy (13) all reached double-figures in scoring for Los Alamitos.
Captain Angelina Alvarez led the Sailors with nine points and three steals.
Academy League
Crean Lutheran 74, Brethren Christian 22
Britney Cuevas had a team-high seven points for the Warriors (3-10, 0-3).
Cat Tuccinardi had a game-high 16 points for the Saints (8-8, 1-2).
Golden West League
Ocean View 58, Loara 35
The Seahawks improved to 14-3 overall by beating the Saxons (5-6, 0-1) in their league opener.
Pacific Coast League
Beckman 58, Corona del Mar 20
Katrina Metcalf had 22 points, six rebounds, and five steals to lead the Patriots (8-8, 1-1) past the Sea Kings (3-12, 0-2).
Tatiana Bruening had 11 points to lead CdM.
Beckman outscored CdM, 39-5, in the second half.
