Newport Harbor High senior Rylie Siegfried has earned Century-Empire-Sunset League MVP honors in girls’ lacrosse, while senior Hannah Sanders earned league Most Valuable Goalie honors.

Newport Harbor also had Sarah Farley, Katie Hendrix, Jordan Rausch and Adena Rothbard as first-team all-league selections.

Siegfried, a team captain headed for UC Davis and a repeat first-team selection, led the Sailors with 42 goals, 15 assists and 72 draw controls. She helped Newport Harbor (12-7, 7-0 in league) capture its first outright league title in program history before going on a memorable run in the U.S. Lacrosse Southern Section South Division playoffs. The Sailors, seeded No. 10, upset No. 7 San Juan Hills and No. 2 St. Margaret’s before succumbing to No. 3 Foothill, 5-1, in the first playoff semifinal appearance in program history.
