Girls’ Volleyball: Dailey honored as Academy League MVP
Sage Hill School senior outside hitter Jamie Dailey earned the Academy League MVP award for leading the girls’ volleyball team to its second undefeated league title in the program’s history.
Dailey is on the first team with two Lightning teammates in junior setter Jade Blevins and senior libero Sahar Rohani, and Brethren Christian junior Britney Cuevas.
Dailey, Blevins and Rohani helped Sage Hill (23-13, 12-0 in league) advance to the semifinals of the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs and the CIF State Southern California Regional Division II playoffs.
Bailey, a two-time first-team selection, finished with 413 kills, 41 service aces and 29 blocks.
Blevins, a repeat first-team member, amassed 772 assists, 112 kills, 68 aces, 31 blocks and 315 digs.
Rohani totaled 624 digs and 22 aces.
Cuevas was part of a Brethren Christian team that went 4-8 in league and shared fourth place.
The second team included Sage Hill senior Sarah Lowey and sophomore Amiyah De’Long, as well as Brethren Christian junior Amber Duren.
Sage Hill sophomore Sydnee Francis and Brethren Christian sophomore McKinna Bullock earned honorable mention.
