Girls’ Volleyball: Local trio earns first-team Orange Coast League honors

Estancia High junior middle blocker McKenna Covey and junior setter Olivia Toohey, as well as Costa Mesa sophomore middle blocker Felicia Crenshaw received first-team All-Orange Coast League girls’ volleyball accolades.

Covey and Toohey led the Eagles (13-11, 7-3 in league) to a share of second place in league and to the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division 2AA playoffs, where they lost at Downey Warren in three sets.

Crenshaw’s Mustangs (6-14, 3-7) placed fourth in league.

The second-team selections included Estancia sophomore opposite Finley Garnett and junior outside hitter Samantha Haynes, and Costa Mesa senior outside hitter Isabella Maniaci and senior opposite Katie Lawrence.

Laguna Beach’s Cameron Dorn, an opposite and middle blocker, took home the Orange Coast League MVP award.
