Boys’ Water Polo: Sage Hill trio earn accolade
Sage Hill boys’ water polo seniors Chris Wan, Harry Miller and Rachael Jaffe are first-team All-Academy League honorees for boys’ water polo.
Wan scored a team-best 90 goals and added 37 steals for the Lightning, who finished second to Webb in the newly-formed Academy League. Sage Hill (13-12) defeated Xavier Prep, 14-7, in the wild-card round of the CIF Southern Section Division 5 playoffs before losing to No. 3-seeded Ayala, 17-7, in the first round.
Miller was second on Sage Hill with 66 goals and had a team-best 30 assists, as well as tying Wan for second on the team with 37 steals.
Jaffe, a goalie and one of two girls on the team, recorded 163 saves.
Sage Hill junior Wyatt Manolakas, sophomore Zane Drobenko and freshman Adam Watson were second-team all-league honorees.
David Albers of Webb earned league MVP honors.
