Locals wrestlers shine

Michael Craft, a 106-pound junior, was one of four Newport Harbor High wrestlers who placed second at the Battle of the Bay tournament at Corona del Mar High on Saturday.

Harrison Reich (145 pounds), David Santos (195) and Drew Dobbs (220) each finished second in their respective weight classes, helping the Sailors finish 3-2 as a team.

Corona del Mar, which went 2-3, had three wrestlers finish in the top three. Alex Denisov, a 106-pounder, and Garrett Clearly, a 285-pounder, each finished second, while Dean Ames, a 192-pounder, was third.

Costa Mesa 120-pounder Nelson Vasquez was second.
