Women’s Volleyball: Hodson top freshman in Pac-12 Conference
Corona del Mar High product Haley Hodson, a freshman outside hitter for the Stanford women’s volleyball team, was named Freshman of the Year in the Pac-12 Conference. She was also a member of the all-conference team.
Hodson, the conference Freshman of the Week five times this season, leads the Cardinal in kills (385), kills per set (3.85) and points per set (4.58). She ranks No. 5 in the conference in points per set and No. 7 in kills per set.
Hodson helped the No. 6-ranked Cardinal complete the regular season 22-6, 16-4 in conference, good for third place. Stanford plays host to New Mexico State on Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
She leads the team with 35 aces and her 242 digs rank No. 3 among Cardinal players. She has 74 total blocks.
Stanford’s Halland McKenna, a former Sage Hill School standout, received honorable mention in the All-Freshman team voting.
