CIF Southern Section preliminaries
RIVERSIDE — Newport Harbor High finished sixth in heat 1 of the Division 2 race to advance to next week’s finals at Mt. San Antonio College.
Junior Ben Wilson finished 23rd in 15 minutes, 39.3 seconds to lead the way for the Sailors at the Riverside City course.
Junior Mark Field (27th, 15:44.5), senior Erik Herrera (30th, 15:49), freshman Alexis Garcia (48th, 16:09.5), junior Anthony Agama (74th, 16:25.1), junior Seanliam McCarthy (98th, 16:40) and senior Sean Arnold (139th, 17:43.2) also competed for Newport Harbor.

RIVERSIDE — Corona del Mar finished eighth in its heat and 16th overall in Division 3 Saturday and advanced to next week’s finals at Mt. SAC.
Leif Hellgren led the Sea Kings, finishing in 12th in 15:32.8, followed by Thomas Robertson in 13th in 15:32.9.
Rhamseys Garcia (42nd, 16:14.6), Daniel Le (68th, 16:43), Matt Paragas (82nd, 16:57), Joshua Means (93rd, 17:18.8) and Chris Lin (128th, 18:18.8) also competed for CdM.

RIVERSIDE — Sage Hill School finished seventh in its heat in Division V Saturday and advanced to next week’s finals.
Senior Cameron Knollenberg led the Lightning, as he finished 21st in 16:54.
Senior Calvin Shimano (28th, 17:02), freshman Kylen Patel (43rd, 17:30), freshman Luke Nataupsky (46th, 17:35) and junior Matt Warden (57th, 17:59) also competed for Sage Hill.

CIF Southern Section preliminaries
RIVERSIDE – Corona del Mar finished third in its heat and seventh overall in Division 3 to qualify for next week’s finals at Mt. San Antonio College.
Raquel Powers led the Sea Kings, finishing in eighth in 18:30.1, followed by Lilly Schmidt, who was 10th in 18:39.6.
Bella Gerken (25th, 19:20.4), Jacqueline Choe (28th, 19:23.9), Hannah Crane (29th, 19:26.1), Katie Correnty (35th, 19:40.5) and Gigi Lee (58th, 20:26) also competed for CdM.

Freshman Emma Dickerson finished seventh in 18:54 to lead the Lightning.
Junior Julia Lowe (12th, 19:51), freshman Maya Jaffe (26th, 20:41), sophomore Ashton Carroll (40th, 21:40) and freshman Olivia Lowe (41st, 21:40) also competed for Sage Hill.

Bacon did not qualify for next week’s CIF Southern Section finals.
