Corona del Mar 16, Dos Pueblos 2
The Sea Kings swept in singles in Wednesday’s CIF Southern Section Division 1 first-round playoff match at Corona del Mar High.
Danielle Willson and Siena Sharf both swept, and Jasie Dunk won twice in singles before being subbed out. Ariana Kermani and Paige Kenerson won two doubles sets before being subbed out.
No. 2-seeded Corona del Mar (18-1) lost the pre-flip and plays at Oaks Christian of Westlake Village in the second round on Friday.

Newport Harbor 16, Palm Springs 2
The Sailors swept in doubles in Wednesday’s CIF Southern Section Division 1 first-round playoff match at Newport Harbor High.
The doubles teams of Anna Burke and Kendall Cosenza, Elle Zielinski and Livi Zehnder, as well as Taryn Anderson and Eva Newsom, all swept. They combined to lose just four total games.
Jenn Kingsley swept in singles for the Sailors (18-1), and Hannah Blower won twice before being subbed out.
Newport Harbor lost the pre-flip and will play at San Clemente in the second round Friday.

Newport Harbor 13, Edison 7
The Sailors clinched outright second place in the Sunset League with their win Wednesday at Newport Harbor High.
Connor Turnbow-Lindenstadt and Cole Brosnan each scored three goals for Newport Harbor (15-10, 4-1 in league), and Ben Morrison and John Rankin each scored twice. Gavin Kunkle, Nic Rimlinger and Jackson Westerman also scored for the Sailors, ranked No. 7 in CIF Southern Section Division 1.
Joe Ferraro made seven saves for the Sailors, who play host to Laguna Beach on Friday in their regular-season finale.
