High School Roundup: CdM wins twice in San Jose

SAN JOSE — Corona del Mar High won twice Friday at Bellarmine Prep to advance to the tournament semifinals.
The Sea Kings beat Lodi, 14-7, before getting past Los Osos, 10-4, in the quarterfinals.
Brendan Hack had six goals and four steals against Lodi, while Will Rodosky, Andres White, Jon Polos, Gabe Dickens, Henry Wilde, Vincent Ong, Preston Sperry and Mitchell Cooper each scored once. Foster Hoose and Nick Britt each had three assists, and Matt Moran made nine saves.
Tamir Avital scored three goals against Los Osos, while Polos scored twice and Ong, Rodosky and Ben Brooks also scored. Moran had a standout game in goal with 13 saves, two steals and an assist.
CdM (18-5) plays Coronado in the tournament semifinals on Saturday morning at Bellarmine Prep.

Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions
SANTA BARBARA — Corona del Mar High lost in the quarterfinals to Mater Dei Friday.
The Monarchs won, 25-16, 19-25, 25-16, 25-22.
The Sea Kings beat La Costa Canyon in the first round, 21-25, 17-25, 25-17, 25-17, 15-6.
CdM (20-2) plays in the fifth-place semifinal on Saturday.

Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions
SANTA BARBARA — Newport Harbor High split during the first day.
Archbishop Mitty beat the Sailors in the first round, 26-24, 25-18, 25-27, 25-17.
Newport Harbor took down Westview, 25-19, 25-15, 25-16.
The Sailors continue with consolation action Saturday.

Academy League finals
ORANGE — Sage Hill School freshman Emma Dickerson finished second in 18 minutes, 47.84 seconds to help the Lightning take second place at Irvine Park on Friday.
Dickerson was two seconds behind the champion, Crean Lutheran senior Mandy Reyes. Sage Hill finished with 43 points, 11 points behind Crean.
Junior Julia Lowe took fourth (19:47.35) and freshman Maya Jaffe finished ninth (20:37.66).
Sophomore Ashton Carroll was 13th (21:14.56) and freshman Olivia Lowe was 15th (21:26.21).

ORANGE — Sage Hill senior Calvin Shimano finished seventh in 19:49.07 to help lead the Lightning take third at Irvine Park on Friday.
Senior Cameron Knollenberg was eighth (16:54.35).
Freshman Kylen Patel (17th, 17:39.83), senior Jacob Diaz (22nd, 18:08.05) and freshman Luke Nataupsky (24th, 18:09.84) also competed.
Crean Lutheran was first at 48 points, St. Margaret’s was second with 60 points and Sage scored 78.
