Tritons earn first win

The Pacifica Christian School girls’ volleyball team earned its first varsity win, as the Newport Beach high school in its second year, on Tuesday night at The Grove School of Redlands.

Sophomore Madeline Gates produced eight aces to help lead the Tritons to a 25-13, 25-13, 25-20 victory.

It was Pacifica Christian’s first varsity match, and it is now 1-0.

Sophomore Larkspur Hadley led the Tritons with seven assists.

Pacifica Christian will have its first varsity home match Wednesday at 6 p.m., when the Tritons face Riverside Christian.
