Ross wins gold

FUZOU, China — Costa Mesa resident April Ross and partner Kerri Walsh Jennings won the Federation Internationale de Volleyball Beach Volleyball World Tour Fuzou Open on Sunday.

Ross and Walsh Jennings defeated the German duo of Chantel Labourer and Julia Sude, 21-15, 21-15, in the final to post their second FIVB tournament title this season.

Ross and Walsh Jennings won the Rio Grand Slam event in Brazil. They also finished second at the Victoria Open and were third at the Xiamen (China) Open.

Ross and Walsh Jennings will compete in the Assn. of Volleyball Professionals Huntington Beach Open, May 5-8.
